Matt brings 20 years of experience managing global portfolios, teams and risk in multiple strategies and asset classes including Convertible, Capital Structure and Merger Arbitrage, Volatility, Correlation, Fundamental and Quantitative to the firm.  Matt served as Head of Liquid Strategies and Solutions at Achievement Asset Management where he helped steward the firm from inception to $2.4 billion in assets in under five years.  In addition to acting as Portfolio Manager of The Achievement Fund, Matt managed approximately $300 million in separate discretionary volatility and quantamental long/short equity accounts for BlackRock, JP Morgan Asset Management, Arden (Aberdeen), Perella Weinberg/American Century, Aurora (Natixis) and more.  Prior to joining Achievement, Matt co-founded Tamalpais Asset Management, were he served as Managing Partner, Head of Trading and Portfolio Manager for over $300 million in assets covering Convertible, Capital Structure, Correlation and Volatility strategies.  Previously, Matt helped launch and grow Marin Capital Partners from inception to a peak of $2.3 billion in assets.  In his role at Marin, Matt served as Portfolio Manager for Convertible, Capital Structure and Volatility strategies.  Matt earned his BA from Wittenberg University and completed a 100-day National Outdoor Leadership School expedition in the Rocky Mountains in addition to an Outward Bound wilderness expedition in Northern California.  Matt currently serves on the Board of Directors of New York City Outward Bound Schools; is a member of the Board of Directors of Chicago-based Greenwood Project; and is an active supporter of the Navy SEAL Foundation.  Matt is a six-time marathoner and competitive offshore sailor who enjoys blending philanthropy with adventure and physical challenge.
