Actuary and Risk Manager by training (FSA, FCIA, CERA, B.Sc. (Hon.) in Actuarial Mathematics / Minor in Business Studies from Concordia University, M.Sc. in Quantitative Finance from the University of Zurich / Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich), Rheia has around 15 years of multinational experience in the financial industry – primarily as an actuarial and risk management consultant at one of the largest professional services firms and as an investment analyst at a leading asset management firm in Canada. Today, her mission with IVADO, the University of Montréal and six participating universities across Canada, is to develop the Fin-ML network, mainly through a NSERC-CREATE training program in Machine Learning in Quantitative Finance and Business Analytics. Passionate about big data and extracting meaning from complex information, Rheia aims to develop a first-class scientific network and bring together industry professionals, academic researchers and students to develop cutting-edge expertise in the financial industry.
